Craft Fair Season Approaches

Getting ready for this year's craft fairs. I'm going to try to sell some fashion hat and scarf sets along with my usual quirky offers.

I have a lot of new pokemon for this year too. I'm making them larger than before and working on some that I haven't done before.

I have an Aerodactyl in the works too, and a Houndour, along with a few others.

I'm also thinking of putting some other stuffed animals out for sale, I have some jellyfish, a shark, a bunch of multi colored stuffies, a pony, a big kitty, a sad puppy and some others too.

Lions and Tigers and Craft Fairs! Oh My

I participated in my first craft fair last weekend. All I can say is OMG! I paid for a 10' x 10' space and got an 8' x 8' instead, so I couldn't do the set up that I had taken 2 weeks to work on. Then, the weatherman scared everyone saying there was a wind storm headed our way and we should all stay home. Well, the buyers (and some of the vendors too) listened to the news and stayed home. Funny thing was, the wind never showed up on our area. So, instead of 65 vendors and 500 buyers, we had 60 vendors and just over 100 buyers.
Luckily, I made enough to cover my costs, but not so much for profit.
Oh, well, live and learn. I'll be more ready for the next fair (November 19) and thankfully I'm sharing a booth with a friend who has done them before.

I used 1 regular worsted weight yarn and 1 fuzzy yarn like Lion Brand Fun Fur
G hook
9 mm safety eyes and 9 mm safety nose
polyester fiberfill

6sc in a magic circle 
2 sc in each sc around (12) 
(sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) X3 (15) 
(sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) X3 (18) 
(sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) X6 (24) 
(sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) X6 (30) 
(sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) X6 (36) 
sc in each sc around, sl in next sc DO NOT FINISH OFF(36) 
turn working in the wrong side now, attach the fuzzy yarn to the base yarn 
10 rounds of sc in each sc with the 2 yarns held together (you have to work with the wrong side facing you so the fuzzy yarn can stick out on the right side) For the decreases use a regular decrease, not an invisible (its neater and easier that way)

My New Obsession

We are in the middle of the worst heat wave and drought in my lifetime, so of course, I'm making hats and scarves.
I started finding the cutest hat patterns online and had to make some of them.

Then I got inspired to make some of my own designs, I started with Star Wars

after star wars came the idea of video game hats like Plants Vs Zombies

and then I just got silly
